Founded in 1978 by Robert Wilson MBE, Sound Technology Ltd, now re-branded to LIVE Technology from May 2025, is one of the largest independent distributors operating in the professional audio, professional lighting and musical instrument industries. We provide brand-focussed representation for a select number of high profile international brands across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

In December 2017 Sound Technology Ltd became a wholly owned subsidiary of Midwich Ltd, part of the Midwich Group plc. The May 2025 re-branding to LIVE Technology underpinned the company's focus across the broader live events, stage, screen and TV sectors and more accurately reflects what we do as a business today.
